About Event

After a fantastic April event, we're back with the same format and a new name.

Join us on May 18th for the next Climate Sparks Unconference, where professionals across all sectors unite to tackle climate change through innovative ideas and collaborative solutions.

This month, alongside our general sessions, we are excited to highlight a special track dedicated to climate media and communications.

We invite anyone participating to sign up to speak or give a talk, and will attempt to accommodate everyone who is interested. Sign up here.

Event Highlights:

  • Casual and Interactive:

    • Climate Sparks is focused on informal, participant-driven sessions that foster open dialogue and networking.

    • Choose from one of 4 sessions to attend any given time.

    • Learn about new projects and areas of work from others in the NY Climate Community

  • Diverse Participation:

    • Engage with a broad spectrum of experts from various fields including artists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, climate professionals, nonprofit leaders, academics, financiers, activists, and regulators.

  • Meaningful Conversations:

    • Have deeper discussions and build more meaningful connections than typical networking events.

New this month:

  • Media and Communications Track:

    • We're trying out a theme this month, and inviting you to bring and attend sessions that explore the influence of communication in shaping public perception and influencing policy on climate action. This track is perfect for communicators, filmmakers, journalists, and other media professionals aiming to amplify their impact.

Join us to share, learn, and ignite lasting change in the world of climate action.

Give a talk!

At Climate Sparks, attendees are the speakers. Sign up here to present. Plan on a short 15 minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of discussion. While we cannot guarantee a slot, we will try to accommodate everyone who signs up.

Format

Each block is 30 minutes, and will have 3 to 4 sessions in different rooms: you'll need to choose which to attend. Each talk is relatively small, with 10 to 20 attendees, making it easy for everyone to participate.

  • 10:00am - 10:30am: Session Block 1

  • 10:30am - 11:00am: Session Block 2
