Duck Duck Goose introduces Ask Me Anything (AMA), presented in collaboration with Design Week South Africa. Ask Me Anything is an initiative aimed at providing aspiring creative professionals and interested individuals with key insights from leaders in various fields through meaningful one-on-one conversation on the stoep of Duck Duck Goose’s flagship store. Participants are able to RSVP a 15-minute timeslot to sit down with the full attention of an established industry professional. In the context of what many call a “gatekept” industry, the motivation for the Ask Me Anything initiative is to provide aspiring creative professionals with the opportunity to draw on the experience and knowledge of a respected and established industry professional.
The guest for this fourth edition of Ask Me Anything is Koooooos (AKA Koos Groenewald). Koooooos is an artist, designer and one half of the renowned and award winning South African design STUDIO Jana+Koos. His work ranges from illustration and painting to photography and sculpture, and can best be described as gently grotesque, with an irreverent sense of humour and playful style that translates into his works, reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously.
With AMA consultations starting at 12:00 and finishing at 15:00, participants will also have the opportunity to connect with one another on either side of their 15-minute consultation with the special guest. Furniture will be provided by FEDE Arthouse to enable comfortable conversation on the sidewalk of 120 Bree Street between those who have come to the store for the same purpose. If your preferred slot is booked, we still encourage you to come in case there is a last-minute cancellation.
Ask Me Anything forms part of Young Urbanists South Africa’s weekly Open Street Experiment on Bree Street.
