Tech Workers Coalition - Toronto Chapter
There are many things about Toronto's tech scene but there's one untapped area where Toronto tech scene can truly differentiate by taking advantage of one area where we do have the US beat - our union density, both in the private and public sector. It is time to bring this Canadian advantage to our tech sector.
The story goes that Toronto has incredible tech talent but not the most promising of opportunities and so we suggest the talent band together to do the thing that we need more than ever — especially in these times of economic uncertainty — we need a union.
Come join us over a game of bocce at Fred Hamilton Park to discuss and hear stories from those who have done it before. Come also discuss what's working, what isn't, and what you would like to change at your workplace with the Toronto chapter of the Tech Workers Coalition.
What is the Tech Workers Coalition?
We are a coalition of workers in and around the tech industry, labor organizers, community organizers, and friends. We work in solidarity with existing movements towards social justice, workers' rights, and economic inclusion.
*NOTE
While all are invited, please be aware that the focus of our discussions will be focused on our roles as individual contributor tech workers and building solidarity amongst ourselves as individual contributor tech workers. While founders and those in C-suite management are welcome, we ask that you please be mindful of this.
