Volunteer Day with the Hawaii Land Trust
Join Joey Aquino — startup veteran and passionate conservationist — for a volunteer day with the Hawai‘i Land Trust (HILT), where he proudly serves on the board. Over the years, Joey has hosted dozens of volunteer groups from Amazon, Elemental Impact, Builders VC, New York Life and more to mālama ʻāina at HILT’s protected sites across the islands.
For this volunteer day, we’ll spend a half day at Maunawila Heiau, a 9-acre cultural and ecological treasure in Hauʻula on Oʻahu’s windward side. If you’re ready to put your laptop and phone down after a week of tech events, reconnect with the land, and get your hands in the dirt, this is your chance.
Things to know:
Arrive early — we’ll begin with a formal welcome to the site, and you don’t want to be that person who walks in late.
Parking is available on-site. Just enter "Maunawila Heiau Complex" into Google Maps for direct directions.
Dress for the land — wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Come ready for fresh air, great company, and a chance to give back to the ʻāina.
