About Event

Open source communities have the potential to accelerate climate impact through the power of collaboration and connection.

Join Open Climate Fix for our upcoming community tech talk where we'll explore how open source activity is currently contributing to mitigating climate change.

We'll be joined by some incredible speakers sharing their open source + climate related projects, including 👇

🌱 Hilary Carter - SVP of Research at The Linux Foundation will be discussing her research around how open source is supporting sustainability efforts aligned to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit that provides a neutral, trusted hub for developers and organisations to code, manage, and scale open technology projects and ecosystems.

🌱 Viktor Andersson - Viktor is an Open Source Community Engineer at Electricity Maps, and will share an introduction to the exciting work they're doing to help electricity users save carbon with their interactive API product.

Electricity Maps is an API platform providing real-time and predictive electricity signals allowing any device to reduce their cost and emissions by informing them about the best time to consume electricity.

🌱 Tobias Augspurger - Founder of Open Sustainable Technology will share more about his incredible work cultivating climate-focused open source communities.

Open Sustainable Technology is a directory and analysis of the open source ecosystem in the areas of climate change, sustainable energy, biodiversity and natural resources.

We'll hear from each speaker and end the event with a Q&A moderated by Open Climate Fix co-founder and CEO, Dan Travers.

This is an essential talk if you're interested in how open source and technical skills can be used to drive positive change and impact!
