Catapult Accelerator Showcase
The Venture Mechanics Catapult Accelerator Program stands out in the world of incubators and accelerators. Unlike traditional 90-day cohort programs, companies in the Catapult Program remain until they secure funding - often continuing for multiple follow-on rounds - with an expected average participation of 24 months.
Every 90 days, however, we host a showcase where startups participating in this highly selective program can show off their progress. This is a unique opportunity to observe their evolution and traction gain over time.
The Catapult Showcase Night also offers founders in the community a chance to see firsthand how Catapult founders accelerate their progress by leveraging our extensive network of seasoned mentors and investor partners.
Immediately after the stage presentations, investors will be invited to join deep dive due diligence sessions for their favorite startups that are actively fundraising. Each company will be assigned to a conference room or event space in the building where investors can spend 45 minutes asking detailed questions of the founders. There are two rounds so investors pick their two favorite startups to join in with.
At this quarter's Showcase Night we have special guests Lorraine Mountain and Alison Nogueira from Northeastern University who will be speaking to us about “The Impact of Cooperative Education," something every scrappy startup founder is going to want to know about. Many people are unaware that Northeastern now has 14 campuses around the world, include a relatively new one in Seattle.
Lorraine Mountain, Assistant Dean of Engineering Co-op and Senior Director Alison Nogueira, from Northeastern University's world-renowned cooperative education program will share information about the experiential education model with a 115 year history. Together, they lead a team of 40+ co-op faculty and staff dedicated to connecting students with employers across 62 countries worldwide. Northeastern’s co-op program is ranked No. 1 for co-ops/internships by U.S. News and World Report and continues to transform how students bridge academic learning with professional experience, connecting thousands of engineering students annually with top employers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. They will highlight Northeastern’s co-op program and benefits for employer partners, along with opportunities to engage with the global campus network including the local Seattle campus.
