About Event

This workshop will guide doctoral students with an overview of the different grant opportunities available to them from the Federal government, including opportunities for international scholars and those from underrepresented communities. A portion of this workshop will be working on drafting a short summary statement for a potential research project/grant, as well as working in real-time with resources to find an opportunity to apply for.

At the end of this event, attendees will:

1. Understand the foundational principles of successful grant writing, including the key components of a grant proposal, the grant application process and timeline, and the criteria used by federal funding agencies to evaluate proposals.

2. Practice skills to effectively communicate their research ideas and plans in writing, including clearly articulating the significance of their research.

3. Identify potential federal grant opportunities that they may apply for.

This event is in-person and will be live streamed.
