FAQs:

What is Lightmatter? Lightmatter develops photonic computing technology for data centers, using light instead of electricity for data transmission to increase speed, reduce latency, and lower power consumption. Their core product, photonic interconnects, significantly boosts data transfer rates, achieving up to 30 terabits per second, with ambitions to reach 100 terabits. This innovation addresses traditional data center bottlenecks, making it particularly valuable for AI and high-performance computing environments that require fast and efficient data handling. Their recent $400M funding round, led by T. Rowe Price Associates, will help scale production to meet the needs of hyperscale data centers and AI companies. Learn more at lightmatter.co.
