Step away from the screen and into the fresh air for a unique professional networking experience.
Tech2Step is teaming up with WIMDI (Women in Male Dominated Industries) to host a Tech Walk for all women — designed to spark meaningful conversations, build connections, and create community.
No formalities. No panels. Just a scenic walk with like-minded women in tech, founders, builders, and curious minds.
What to expect:
Authentic, relaxed networking with other women in the tech space
A scenic waterfront walk to inspire ideas and dialogue
A space to share stories, career insights, and build real connections
Whether you're scaling a startup, navigating your tech career, or just exploring the industry — this walk is for you.
Here's the Plan:
6:00pm – Meet - We’ll meet up in front of The Drop in Coal Harbour (Vancouver Convention Centre West Building, 1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC V6C 0C3).
6:15 pm – Walk/Roll - We’ll go for a 45-minute walk or roll along the beautiful Coal Harbour seawall, heading west towards the Westin Bayshore, chatting up a storm and meeting your new WIMDI besties.
7:00 pm – Ice Cream - We’ll head over to Uno Gelato Café (1055 Canada Pl #36, Vancouver, BC V6C 3T4) for summer-friendly frozen treats and more outdoor socializing

Accessibility & Route Info
We warmly welcome everyone – including folks using mobility aids or strollers. The seawall path is paved, mostly flat, and perfect for walking or rolling. We’ll happily go at a pace that works for the group and make sure everyone feels comfortable and included.
This event is for all women in tech and related fields. All women-identifying participants are welcome.
Note:
Tech2Step x WIMDI Walk, Talk & Ice Cream networking walks are restricted to those who do not currently identify as cisgender men. These events have limited attendance and often involve personal discussion, debate, and advice specific to dynamics underrepresented minorities in these industries experience. We are happy for cisgender men to learn and participate in Tech2Step x WIMDI conversation at most of our other events, but we reserve this networking event as a space for women* to connect with each other freely and openly.
*Tech2Step and WIMDI use an inclusive definition of women that means "people who are in a gender minority in their field". This includes trans individuals, genderqueer, agender, intersex, two spirit, and non-binary folks. If you are not sure if you are included, please err on the side of attending our events!
