James Kim is a cybersecurity, IT, and information governance leader with over 15 years experience. He holds degrees in law (LLB) and information studies (MLIS) from UBC, and is both an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and IMI Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM). Over the course of his career, he has managed identity and access for enterprise cloud implementations, led security operations and vulnerability management, and coordinated change management for business-critical platforms. As a believer in lifelong learning, he recently completed ISACA's Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) exam. He has also volunteered with several nonprofit organizations, doing planning, design, marketing, and tech support.

Nick Maltchev started his professional journey over 32 years ago as a software developer and has held multiple roles in business, technology and cybersecurity since. AppSec has always been very close to his heart. More recently, as part of the Mirai Security team, Nick has led AppSec projects for multiple clients, including Vancity Community Investment Bank and Teck Resources. Most engagements have aimed to help the client shim security in their existing software development lifecycle (SDLC) without affecting velocity. Relying heavily on Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) SAMM and ASVS for measuring teams and applications maturity, respectively. He is always happy to talk to businesses about why they should care about secure software and help them build the program to support that. Additionally, Nick has been on the board of the ISACA Vancouver Chapter for 5 years now and currently holds the position of Vice President. The chapter has been instrumental in resolving the talent gap and helping develop the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
