​I'm a big fan of Japanese fiction in translation and I want to share my love with you all (did that sound creepy?) but, let's get together and discuss this 'stunning and understated' debut novel.

Meanwhile, hidden in the shadows, is Mieko's neurodiverse daughter, who has her role to play in her mother's bizarre schemes.
