Summer BBQ Mingler Party - Everyone Welcome

​What happens when you bring together a bunch of Metro Vancouverite neighbors who are passionate about meeting each other over some food and games? You have an awesome mingler party while making Vancouver less of a more connected place!

​Our summer BBQ is part of the YVR Communities series, a social experiment to make our city a more connected place in response to the lockdown and social distancing.

​As the weather is getting nicer we're going to have a BBQ party at central park! This BBQ kicks off our annual community outdoor events series as the weather starts getting better.

​What to expect:
-meet new friends
-Try some food, BBQ and dishes made by fellow meetupers!
-enjoy some sports and games
-Fun in the sun
-Fun icebreakers

​What to bring:
-Appropriate Clothing
-an appetite
-A towel or blanket to sit on.
-Any games or fun activities to pass the time (Frisbee, Volleyball, kite etc...)
-(OPTIONAL) A dish to share

​=============Where to meet==============

​We're meeting at Central Park's upper pond, at the picnic benches near the horseshoe toss pavilion. If you are coming by car, there are plenty of parking near the central park outdoor pool. Look for a meetup banner tied to the tree. (look at the map)

​If you are new to the group do give a shout and let us give you a warm "YVR Communities welcome".

​Since 2012, Vancouver has been known to be the loneliest city in the world. The lockdowns and social distancing have made it worse. We are on a mission to bring people together and make the city a more connected place. Working with local meetup groups and other grassroots communities, our community of volunteers have put on get together/minglers in the past including:

• ​Thanksgiving potluck (with neighbors and new friends)

• ​Spring time Mix and Mingler (I survived the lockdown restrictions party)

• ​Halloween party

​unless the event is canceled, tickets are non rundfundable within 48 hours before event as we have bought food already. Tickets are transferable.
