You’ve taken a big risk to be a founder, VC or venture investor. Once the big payoff comes if you structured things properly early on you won’t have to pay any US taxes on your reward.

This session will discuss how those in the U.S. venture community can keep as much income as possible. Venture funds and startups can organize themselves such that the exits can be tax free for their investors and founders.

There are two separate provisions in the U.S. tax laws that allow for tax free gains upon exit: The Opportunity Zone Program (OZ) and the Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS). The Pearl Fund is a national leader in using both these tax advantages for the last several years.

An expert on each of these tax programs will present an brief overview of why and how to use them tax and where to find out more information if you want to deploy them.

NOTE: This is not a detailed tax session but a high level overview of these (U.S.A. only) programs with resources on how to learn more.

The Pearl Fund will also have a few of our portfolio companies and investors present describe how using both these programs has benefited them.

The Morgan Stanley Marathone group specializes in cash management solutions for venture funds and startups will give a quick overview of strategies that can be deployed maximize both safety and returns for venture cash.

This session is for investors, fund managers, startup attorneys & accountants as well as founder/CEOs of early stage companies that want to explore if these US tax incentives might be something they want to use.
