About Event

What role do our food systems play in the fight against climate change? How might we use creativity and innovation to fuel food system solutions? What opportunities exist for recent graduates interested in food systems careers?

Join Radhika Bhatt, Alana Siegner, and Eric Sirvinskas to explore the answers to those questions through a down-to-earth conversation on food systems. You'll learn about the importance of designing more regenerative and resilient food systems, how this can contribute to combatting climate change, and what career opportunities exist for recent graduates.

Alana Siegner is the Founder and Co-Director of Climate Farm School, a participatory regenerative agriculture educational program for individuals and teams. Since founding Climate Farm School in 2021, the program has run 5+ courses per year at host farm locations in the U.S. and Europe, and has graduated 160 participants from 20 cohorts total. The program is rooted in an ethic of experiential learning, farmer empowerment, diversified food system stakeholder collaboration, and ecosystem restoration. Alana earned her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley's Energy and Resources Group in 2020, focusing on sustainable agroecological food systems and climate change education. Her research included summers on regenerative farms and led to published book chapters on teaching climate change in K-12 classrooms and participatory agroecology research.

Eric Sirvinskas is the Community Engagement Manager for the Plant Futures Initiative, and supports a network of over 80 university chapters dedicated to equipping the next generation of sustainability and food systems leaders through curriculum, professional development, and social entrepreneurship. From working on four organic farms to consulting on corporate food waste and teaching food system courses at Harvard and Northern Arizona University, Eric holds a wide range of experiences across the food system. He holds a Masters in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University and a Permaculture Design Certificate from Hava Ve Adam Ecological Farm.

Radhika Bhatt is the Founder of Saathe Studio, a climate career hub for recent graduates and climate-motivated professionals. She has coached 400+ climate job seekers over the last 3 years and has taught courses, coached individuals, and led workshops with Terra.do, NY Climate Week, MCJ, ClimateCorps, and many other impactful climate organizations.

The Regenerative Roundtable is a new series focused on real conversations with real people, sharing knowledge and career advice to activate green career transitions for recent graduates. The knowledge shared in these conversations is open to any curious mind interested in using their skills to fight climate change – if you want to learn, you are welcome. This is a monthly series taking place on the 2nd Mondays of every month, sign up here for all upcoming events.
