NYFW - Screening and Talk, "Out of Fashion," Documentary by Reet Aus.

​Reet Aus is taking over The Canvas 3.0 on the evening of Friday, September 13th, for a special screening of her documentary Out of Fashion, which explores sustainability in the fashion industry and the journey behind her brand.

​The screening starts at 6:15 PM and is followed by a moment for Q&A to get to know the designer and our community, refreshments included.

​The documentary Out of Fashion examines the environmental impact of fashion production, a topic Reet Aus began exploring during her doctoral thesis. The film deeply delves into one of the most challenging waste issues in the fashion industry—production waste—through a journey that led Aus and her co-filmmaker Jaak Kilmi to Bangladesh, a graveyard of production leftovers.

​During her doctoral thesis, designer and activist Reet Aus first began studying the environmental impact of fashion production. These studies took her to the epicentre of the fashion industry — Bangladesh — and later led her to create the UPMADE® certification system, which enables designers to reduce production waste in factories in Bangladesh as well as Turkey, Poland, Kenya and Estonia.
