Transitions Research is a Goa-based social science collective. We work on just and equitable climate transitions. In collaboration with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), we are looking at barriers and enablers to the adoption of rooftop solar by homeowners and business owners in Goa.
As part of this drive, we are organising a half-day conference on rooftop solar. This conference will bring together various sector experts on rooftop solar energy, including government officials, empanelled vendors, solar system manufacturers, trade and business associations, and residential and commercial users of solar.
-> A series of experts will present their perspectives, sharing the state-of-the-art related to the solar landscape in Goa. Following these individual addresses, a panel discussion between key stakeholders will address key barriers, potential solutions, and opportunities for innovation.
-> A Q&A session will function as a general forum to address any questions, suggestions, and concerns from the general public.
-> We will also be sharing a series of pamphlets we have designed on key topics related to solar, including: subsidies and finances; types of solar systems and panels, and which kind might best suit your home or business; the environmental benefits of solar; and the Dos and Don'ts of solar ownership.
Tea and snacks will be provided during the conference, and all attendees will be provided lunch after the event.
