From the loss of human control to malicious uses and unforeseen societal impacts, advanced AI raises major concerns that require clear safeguards. Red lines in AI appear to be a promising solution for framing the development of ever more powerful systems. But their implementation raises fundamental questions: are they feasible? Can they really prevent aberrations without holding back innovation?
