Crick x Cambridge Innovation Challenge 2025
🚀 Crick x Cambridge Innovation Challenge: Where Science Meets Entrepreneurship!
Now in its 5th edition, the Crick Innovation Challenge, hosted by the Crick Science Entrepreneur Network (CSEN) x Founders at the University of Cambridge, is a 5-day hackathon-style programme for early-career scientists across the UK who are curious about entrepreneurship and want to explore how their research can create real-world impact.
This year we are proud to collaborate with Conception X and LocalGlobe!
We welcome MSc students, PhD candidates, postdocs, and research staff from any scientific discipline. No prior experience, startup idea, or team is needed — just curiosity and enthusiasm!
Participants will:
Join multidisciplinary teams to solve real biomedical challenges
Take part in expert-led panels, ideation workshops, and hands-on venture training (pitching, IP, team building and more)
Build entrepreneurial skills and networks that last beyond the event
Receive invaluable feedback from industry experts.
2025 Challenge areas:
🏥 Beyond Prevention: Solutions with Real-World Impact
While prevention is important, millions are already living with disease. We need bold solutions that dig deeper: diagnosing smarter, treating the root causes, and aiming for real cures. From next-gen diagnostics to curative therapies, bring ideas that make a real-world impact today. Let’s stop managing illness and start solving it.⚙️ Bioengineering: Where Imagination Meets Innovation
At the crossroads of biology and tech, bioengineering is reshaping health, food, and sustainability. Whether it’s reprogramming cells or building breakthrough devices, this is where bold ideas become real-world impact.💊Inclusive Health: Closing the Gap in Modern Medicine
Healthcare has too often left people out — especially women, people with disabilities, and marginalised communities. This challenge area is about building inclusive solutions that make care fair, accessible, and effective for all. If you care about equity, impact, and innovation, here’s your chance to make it real.
Our goal is for every participant to walk away inspired, informed, and connected — with a clearer view of what scientific entrepreneurship can look like🌟
