βAn invitation to my people:
βTechnologists who follow the All-In Pod and find the Science Corner with David Friedberg their favorite part of the show; we decided to bring you a whole Science Day.
βEntrepreneurs, Scientists, Researchers and Investors who fell down the rabbit whole when they heard about the stagnation of progress since 1970 in the world of atoms; we need more of you. Especially if that inspired you to start, a company, a community, research or investing firm dedicated to solving hard problems in deep tech. Jason Crawford has written some interesting essays on Roots of Progress.

βThis is a simple one. Meet each other and feed yourself for a content marathon!
ββ‘οΈ Future of Genome Editing
β2:30pm - 3:30pm
βTrevor Martin, Cofounder & CEO of Mammoth Biosciences (valued at $1 billion) will be doing a 15 minute presentation followed by Q&A with moderator and audience.
βMammoth Biosciences is a biotechnology company focused on leveraging its proprietary ultracompact CRISPR systems to develop long-term curative therapies, as well as other applications such as decentralized precision diagnostics.
β1:30pm - 2:30pm: Check-Ins, Networking & Lunch
β2:30pm - 3:30pm: Future of Genome Editing with Trevor Martin (Cofounder & CEO, Mammoth Biosciences)
β3:45pm - 4:30pm: Exploding Stars & The Expanding Universe; Leading & Executing Innovation Projects
ββ‘οΈ Exploding Stars & The Expanding Universe: Leading & Executing Innovative Projects
β3:45pm - 4:30pm
βAlex Filippenko will be doing a 45 minute presentation on the proven theory of the expanding universe, the significance of the breakthrough and how it relates to entrepreneurship.
βAlex is a Richard & Rhoda Goldman Distinguished Professor in the Physical Sciences at UC Berkeley. His accomplishments, documented in more than 1070 research papers, have been recognized by several major prizes, including a share of both the Gruber Cosmology Prize (2007) and the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics (2015)
ββ‘οΈ Fireside Chat
β4:30pm - 5:15pm
βA conversation with David Friedberg about learnings from building and selling a deep tech company for $1.1 billion.
βDavid is our favorite bestie from the All-In podcast. He sold his last The Climate Corporation for $1.1 billion to Monsanto in 2013 and made it the first unicorn in the emerging agricultural technology space. He now runs his investment firm The Production Board, focused on life sciences, food & agriculture and energy.
ββ‘οΈ Panel with David Friedberg & Alex Filippenko
βThis is going to be a fun one. They are both astrophysicists, Alex was David's teacher back at Cal.
βWe will talk about how David has used science to fund companies, how an astro major gives him a different lens.
βCan dark energy from the space be harnessed and used on Earth? We debate what is currently physically possible.
βAsteroid mining - what is possible right now? What have we built to deflect an extinction by an asteroid?
βDyson spheres - what are these and who is currently trying to maximize solar energy, how can it be done?
βAnd more.

βScience corner becomes science day at the inaugural Building Atoms Summit. We believe a band of technologists inspired to solve hard problems in the world of atoms will move the world forward. We need more of you.
