Anna Gilstrap (she/her) is a queer transracial international Chinese adoptee. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Structural Biology at Northwestern University and plans to pursue a Master of Science in Law at the Pritzker School of Law in the coming years. Her work focuses on protein structure and function, specializing in cryo-EM. She is passionate about adoptee activism and social justice concerning the adoptee community and is the Founder and Director of Adoptees Unite, a global social organization aimed at advocating for and building community among all marginalized adoptees.
About Adoptees Unite
Adoptees Unite was founded in 2021 with the intention of including all adoptees from diverse backgrounds, uplifting marginalized voices and creating space for those who need it most. AU focus on adoptee social justice, inclusion, education, and community. As a progressive community, we center marginalized voices and challenge systemic inequalities.
A free virtual space for folks 18+ who identify as an Asian adoptee. This space aims to foster support and empowerment around navigating identity and experiences as an Asian adoptee.
Goal: This space explores the complex and intersecting identities Asian adoptees share through dialogue in a brave space.
