Fundraising 101 Workshop for NYC Founders
You are formally invited to the Fundraising 101 Workshop for NYC Founders hosted by Brex.
Our host Erica Wenger will do a brief fundraising presentation on tips and best practices. We'll then do an off-the-record Q&A with a few high-profile GPs (Melody Koh & Julia Maltby & Jay Estefani Castillo) in the VC NYC ecosystem who you can ask all your questions!
Melody Koh is a Partner at NextView Ventures, based in its New York office. She has spent her entire career working with technology startups as an entrepreneur, operator, and investor.
Prior to joining NextView, Melody was Head of Product at Blue Apron. Melody joined Blue Apron as the first product hire post Series A and helped scale the business through hyper-growth (25x in 3.5 years) and to its IPO, building and leading teams across Product Management, Product Design, and Data Science. Previously, Melody was a Product Manager at Fab.com and the founder/CEO of a seed-funded wine subscription e-commerce service. Prior to her operating career, Melody was a venture investor at Time Warner’s strategic VC group in NYC and was one of six inaugural members of First Round Capital’s Product Co-op initiative.

Previously, she was on the investments team at Underscore Ventures, and the founding team of Plum Alley Investments. She has been working and investing in the New York tech ecosystem for over a decade.

Jay Estefani Castillo is the founding principal at m]x[v Capital, a NYC-based early-stage venture firm founding the next generation of enterprise B2B SaaS leaders.
As part of m]x[v, she was on the founding team of Gynger, a fintech startup that’s building the first AI-powered payments platform with embedded financing for technology buyers and sellers. Prior to helping build m]x[v and Gynger, she was at firms including Bridgewater Associates and WeWork, helping them build new teams and increase revenue.
