About Event

Let's celebrate Earth Day by helping preserve some of the last remaining marshland of the San Leandro Bay. Ensure a cleaner environment for us humans and the resident shorebirds.

WHAT: Celebrate our beautiful Bay! Meet to clean up plastics and other trash at Martin Luther King Shoreline Park (specifically at Damon Marsh).

Bring yourself, friends, your water bottle, and any gloves, hand sanitizer, pails, and pick-up tools you have. We have some trash pick-up tools, trash bags, and gloves. Wear sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and a hat!

WHERE: MEET AT THE OUTDOOR ART SCULPTURE next to the Damon Marsh parking lot at the end of Zhone Way (at Oakport St) in Oakland, CA. If you arrive late, please just look for us 10 minutes down the path to the right as you face the sculpture.

SPECIAL NOTE: As part of their FuelingtheFight campaign for EarthMonth, JUSTEgg will be joining us with FREE plant-based breakfast at our MLK Shoreline Cleanup! Breakfast sandwiches and water are served from 9:45 a.m. to noon. Get 'em while they're hot!

MORE INFO: Before 10:15 am on April 22, feel free to text Dalya Massachi with any questions: 510-786-7415.

PLEASE KNOW: Cleanup participation is at your own risk. Rain at the start time cancels the event.

FYI: This event is part of a monthly series. If you would rather attend in the future, please contact the organizer.
