Speaker Profile:

Phoebe Wang (Investment Partner, Head of Female Founder Initiative, Amazon Climate Pledge Fund)

Phoebe Wang serves as the investment partner at Amazon Climate Pledge Fund, a $2 billion venture investment fund supporting the development of sustainable technologies and services that will enable Amazon to meet its net-zero carbon goal. She has over a decade experience in climate tech with strong passion in fighting climate change for the future generations. She was also an ex-entrepreneur and built a start-up in technology commercialization. Phoebe was the recipient to Top 10 Entrepreneur by Silicon Valley Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (SVIEF) in 2016, Global Corporate Venturing Top Rising Star in 2020, and the US Department of Energy (DOE)’s Business C3E Award in 2022. Phoebe is a Charterholder of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), with an MBA concentrated in Climate and Finance, and a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering. She serves as a Special Advisor to the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) and Department of Energy (DOE). She is a frequent guest lecturer at Brandeis University, UC Berkeley, MIT and Rice University. In her free time, Phoebe enjoys reading, working out and practicing vipassana.

Sam Ramadori (CEO, BrainBox AI)

Sam Ramadori oversees the execution of BrainBox AI’s growth-oriented business plan, leads the senior management team, and manages investor relations. As a sustainability enthusiast, he brings a passion for driving impactful change, particularly towards fighting the climate crisis. Sam’s background includes private equity investing and senior management roles, with extensive experience supporting management teams in the development and implementation of their commercialization strategies. Before joining BrainBox AI in 2019, Sam held senior operational, investor, and deal execution roles at private equity firms, including Walter Capital Partners and Brookfield Capital Partners. He has an MBA from the Ivey School of Business as well as degrees in common law and civil law from the University of Ottawa.

Patrick Gagné (CEO, Cycle Momemtum)

With a strong passion for innovation, Patrick Gagné has always strived to create social and environmental impact through technology. For 25 years, Patrick has helped create and build a wide variety of businesses in technology by focusing on growth and innovation. In 2014, he cofounded Téo Taxi, a tech company that had a deep impact in transforming the taxi industry. Since 2018, Patrick contributed to the development of the Montreal startup ecosystem in his role as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the OSMO Foundation (Notman House) and as Co-founder and Co-CEO of Startup Montréal (QuebecTech). In September 2020 he accepted the position of CEO at Cycle Momentum, a startup accelerator and investor in the cleantech space, backed by Cycle Capital. Patrick has won several industry awards for mobile marketing and entrepreneurship (Entrepreneur Support Award from Startup Canada, Best mobile application – AQTR, Corporate Responsibility award – Novae, Award for employment creation in Québec, Consumer Choice award, C2-MTL Emerging entrepreneurs, Les Grands Prix du Design).

Lisbeth Kaufman (Head of AWS Climate Tech)

Lisbeth Kaufman is the Head of Climate Tech BD, Startups and Venture Capital at Amazon Web Services. Her mission is to help the best Climate Tech startups succeed and reverse the global climate crisis. Her team has technical resources, go to market support and connections to help climate tech startups overcome obstacles and scale. Lisbeth is a former Founder of KitSplit.com, a sharing economy company called “the Airbnb of Cameras” by Forbes, and LucidHome.co, easy-to-understand climate risk reports for any address in the U.S. Before she was a founder, Lisbeth worked on climate policy as an energy/environment/agriculture policy advisor in the U.S. Senate. There she built a first-of-its-kind energy efficiency retrofit program and wrote a clean energy bill for farmers that got passed into law.
