We continue our journey through fiction and in October, we turn to 

, a novel that examines body autonomy, the challenges of womanhood, and the search for peace as we age. 

The story follows three women—Natsu, her older sister Makiko, and Makiko’s daughter Midoriko—each confronting personal struggles. Makiko travels to Tokyo for breast enhancement surgery, while her daughter Midoriko, weighed down by the pressures of adolescence, has fallen silent. A decade later, Natsu returns to Tokyo, wrestling with questions about her identity, aging, and being childless. Their journeys highlight the complex realities of contemporary womanhood in Japan. Looking forward to a great discussion on October 29th! ✨
