‘Of Many Minds’ Waterfront Sculpture Exhibit Artist Walk & Opening Ceremony
Join us for an enlightening and engaging walk where we’ll explore the artistic brilliance of the waterfront sculpture exhibit, ‘Of Many Minds’. As we journey from one sculpture to the next with artist Michael Alfano, we’ll delve into the inspiration, artistic direction, and techniques behind each piece.
The Opening Ceremony and ribbon cutting with the Jersey City Mayor will take place at 4 PM under the arch of 10 Exchange Place in front of sculpture #1 ‘Questioning Mind’.
The first artist walk begins at 5:00 PM at the #1 ‘Questioning Mind’ sculpture under the arch of 10 Exchange Place. We will then proceed down to the #14 ‘Dream Manifesting’ sculpture located at Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal, between Christopher Columbus St. and Sussex St. in Jersey City. The walk will take approx. 1.5 hours and end at 6:30 pm.
A second walk is available beginning at #14 ‘Dream Manifesting’ sculpture at 6:30 PM. We’ll walk from sculpture #14 ‘Dream Manifesting’ up to to sculpture #1 ‘Questioning Mind’, the starting point is located at Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal, between Christopher Columbus St. and Sussex St. in Jersey City. The walk will take approx. 1.5 hours and end at 8:00 pm.
After the second walk ends at 10 Exchange Place, we will network and mingle on the Exchange Place Rooftop.

About the Walk: We’ll spend about 5 minutes at each sculpture with the artist Michael Alfano, discussing the inspiration, artistic direction, and techniques used in their creation. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and delve deeper into the artistic process. The walk is expected to last approximately 1.5 hours, allowing ample time for introductions, discussions, and the walk itself. The first walk will end at the #14 ‘Dream Manifesting’ sculpture located at Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal, between Christopher Columbus St. and Sussex St. in Jersey City.
Please note that the 15th sculpture, “Blown,” will not be included in this walking tour as it is located a few blocks away.
Special Guest: The artist, Michael Alfano, will be joining us on the walk. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artist about his work and creative process.

The ‘Of Many Minds’ waterfront sculpture exhibit is a collection of public, surrealistic sculptures by Michael Alfano, displayed along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in Jersey City. The exhibit opened on March 28, 2024, and runs for a year. This sculpture series represents the diversity and complexity of human thought. Each face depicts a different emotion, reflecting the range of feelings and experiences that contribute to our collective consciousness. Each sculpture is accompanied by a thought-provoking quote, inviting viewers to engage with the art on a deeper level.
