About Event

What is Hackacat Nano?

What can you build in an 7-hour timeframe?

Hackacat Nano is a 7-hour hackathon where you will work with an interdisciplinary team and industry mentors to build solutions to real business challenges. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, expand your network, and compete for prizes—all in one action-packed day.

Event Details

  • Date: Saturday, November 16th, 2024

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM

  • Location: J.C. Mitte Building, 3rd Floor

  • Theme: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Why Participate?

  • Connect with industry mentors and sponsors

  • Develop valuable skills working in a realistic team scenario in technology, business, and design

  • Compete for prizes

  • Free meals provided (lunch and dinner)

Team Structure

  • Interdisciplinary teams of 6 members each

  • 4 Computer Science students

  • 2 Design students

  • You can register with your own team or be matched with other participants

Competition Format

  • 7 hours of development time with mentor support

  • Shark Tank style final presentations

  • 15-minute team presentations including:

    • Business pitch

    • Product demonstration

    • Q&A with industry judges

  • Best in Dev, Best in Design, Best in Business, and Best Overall awards

What You Need

  • Your laptop

  • Your creativity and enthusiasm

  • Willingness to learn new skills!
