About Event
Currently, there are about 50-75 trillion pieces of plastic and microplastics in the ocean. Plastic pollution is a critical environmental challenge with a major impact on ocean health, threatening marine ecosystems and biodiversity. This panel will focus on concrete local actions and feature experiences and insights from various stakeholders—including government representatives, the private sector, and civil society organizations—on addressing the impacts of plastic pollution on marine biodiversity. Among these concrete actions will be the announcement of the winners of the GPAP biodiversity-focused small grants.
What are the next steps to bring global policy into local action to protect marine biodiversity from plastic pollution?
