Biopunk (un)Conference

β----------------------------------------
βBiotech is f*cked.
βWe've decided to change that. To lower the barrier to entry for people who actively want to change the system.
βWhen the largest gathering of synthetic biologists costs $2500 to attend, that's gatekeeping. We're offering a gathering at 1/10th the cost that'll be a lot more fun.
βWhile traditional biotechnology requires years of jumping through stupid hurdles to get a PhD, we want to celebrate autodidacts and experimentalists getting creative at the fringe to get sh*t done faster.
βNo more startup pitches hyping up vaporware wooly mice. We're showcasing the real ones discussing problems at the edge of the possible doing brave, ongoing work while carrying a pipette-in-hand.
βNo more talking heads on stage. We want attendees to be involved, not impressed, having conversations on how to change the systems we operate in.
βAt most stuffy networking events attendees come in suits. We don't care what you wear as long as it's comfortable to dance in during our rave.

Join a global gathering of punks, innovators, and disruptors pushing the boundaries of biotechnology at a weekend-long conference designed to spark radical collaboration and reimagine the future of life sciences.
βWith speakers from Ginkgo Bioworks, NVIDIA, Opentrons, E11 Bio, Pioneer Fund, Lowercarbon Capital, The Odin, Foresight Institute, Tomorrow Bio & more! ποΈ
βTickets include 5x meals over the course of the weekend + access to a late-night after hours rave.

βIn a world swimming in noise, itβs time to pause and ask the critical question:
What are the most important problems in biotechnology that no one is working on?
βThis conference will be a melting pot for renegades in synthetic biology, community labs, bioinformatics, regenerative medicine, and more, to address the pressing gaps and untapped opportunities in the field. Through unconference sessions participants will tackle uncharted territory, with three tracks:
βCrash n' Burn (stories of failures in biotech)
βOpenBio (community + accessibility building)
βHeretical Ideas (weird concepts at the frontier)
βWHO SHOULD COME
βJaded Scientists - seen some sh*t + knows that the regular way of doing things just wonβt cut it anymore
βBio Entrepreneurs - The world is f*cked -they want to change it + are willing to break down walls to get there
βPunk Students - Wants hands-on experience playing in biotech to get a gig... eventually
βWHAT'S THE POINT?
βWe're in an extinction event for biotech in the United States. Something needs to change.
βLetβs challenge the status quo and build the future that should exist. The questions no one is asking might hold the key to breakthroughs no one thought possible.
βSpaces are limited. Secure your spot now.
