A discussion with the one and only Sunthar V β a Toronto-born, Tamil, and openly queer comedian. Weβll discuss what love and sex meant to them growing up, the intersection of being Tamil and queer, and how they use comedy as a tool for having deep conversations.
βFor the second half of the chat weβll be joined by therapist Sonam to delve even deeper.
βWe'll end with an audience Q&A. So come with your questions, energy and openness.

βWith a proud Tamil queer identity and the experience of being a child of refugees, Sunthar V's comedic storytelling transcends boundaries and resonates with audiences from diverse backgrounds. Their ability to connect with people on a deep level has earned them a loyal following and widespread acclaim. Sunthar also founded London's first Tamil Comedy Club which has taken the comedy scene by storm, regularly hosting sold-out shows.
βAnisah Osman Britton is the creator of Brown Bodies, a platform all about love and sex in the South Asian diaspora. As an accomplished tech founder and tech journalist, she's always had a deep love for storytelling which has led her to moderating stages across the world with some of the biggest names in the industry. She was awarded an MBE by the King for services to diversity in tech.
βRabia Sohail is the founder of Toronto IRL, a purpose-driven project she launched in May 2024. Since then she has thrown 15+ sold out events and grown toronto IRL to 2500+ subscribers. She is also the host of see u IRL, a community that brings strangers together in an apartment style cafe biweekly.
βSonam is the founder of Shifting Your State Therapy. She has a special interest in the complexities that children of immigrant parents/guardians encounter. She herself is a child of immigrant Punjabi-Sikh parents. She creates space in her sessions for the exploration of generational healing.
