Melanie Eddis, Partner, ERM
Melanie is a Partner at ERM and Integrity Lead for ERM’s Climate Markets business. She has led services in greenhouse gas accounting and the carbon markets for more than 20 years, with extensive experience working with global corporates to build strategic responses to climate change, focusing on GHG inventories, performance reporting, verification, mitigation and project-based mechanisms. With involvement across a range of national and international GHG programs, she led project validation and verification services for ERM CVS for 10 years, developing a deep understanding of project quality and integrity. Melanie has participated in the development of guidelines and frameworks for reporting and verification of GHG emissions, including the original GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.

Tara O'Shea, Senior Director of Strategy, Forests and Land Use at Planet
Tara is passionate about realigning natural and human systems to forge more sustainable models of economic development, and has worked across the academic, nonprofit, finance and technology sectors towards this end. As the Senior Director of Forest Programs at Planet, she oversees the company’s strategy for leveraging its Earth observation and analytics technologies to improve global forest monitoring systems today, and account for the value of forests in the global economy tomorrow.
Trained in the natural sciences, Tara began her career advancing ecosystem services research at Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. In 2012, she helped start a nonprofit focused on engaging the private sector in Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+), a financial mechanism for sustainable land use under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Prior to joining Planet, Tara advised several foundations and investment firms on integrating the reality of climate and environmental change into their portfolios, including organizing the Climate & Capital summit that brought together investors representing over $1 trillion AUM alongside the COP21 in Paris.
Tara holds a Master’s of Environmental Management and International Development from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Gettysburg College.
Teresa Hartmann, Chief Ratings Officer at BeZero Carbon
Teresa Hartmann is the Chief Ratings Officer at BeZero Carbon. She has extensive experience in scaling carbon market development, transparency, and integrity. Before joining BeZero, Teresa led market formation for the ICVCM and helped develop the Core Carbon Principles. Teresa also held roles at WEF, UNEP, and a national park in Africa, as well as authored key reports on nature and climate finance such as WEF’s Nature and Net Zero report.
Don Danmeier, Technical Manager, Offsets, Chevron
Don works in Chevron’s New Energies Origination team where he leads a small technical team that supports investments in early stage carbon offset projects & platforms. He has worked in ocean engineering and environmental restoration & risk management over his 25 year career, both within the energy sector and in technical consulting firms. Don holds a PhD from MIT and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
