ArtWalls Week 1 — Grounding in "Our Rituals" through Collaborative Art
It's time for the next ArtWalls!
ArtWalls is a collaborative art series hosted by MINCA. Together, over 4 weeks, we'll co-create a large scale mural under the theme of "Our Rituals" using Acrylic paint. All levels are welcome — yes, even if you've never picked up a paint brush!
What is Collaborative Art?
Normally, art projects are individual. With collaborative art, we all work from the same canvas and we are encouraged to add onto the work of others. At the end, the piece will look like the work of a single artist even though dozens of people contributed.
Theme & Materials
Theme: Our Rituals
Materials: Acrylic Paint & Big Paper taped to the walls.
Rituals are simple acts made sacred through intention—morning coffee, lighting a candle, getting your nails done, the way you wash your face. In this ArtWalls series, we’ll explore the quiet power of these everyday gestures. Through color, shape, and story, we’ll paint our personal rituals onto a shared wall, weaving together a mural that honors how we find meaning, grounding, and connection in our lives.

How can Collaborative Art support healing?
Often, we are our own biggest critic. We may hold high expectations (perfectionism) that may prevent us from starting projects or feeling proud of the outcome.
Collaborative art shifts the narrative from the individual to the collective. It eliminates comparison and competition by placing the focus on co-creation and community effort. This helps us to practice relinquishing control and celebrating the power of working together.
