About Event

NYCEDC and AI Furnace invites AI-first companies to cowork from Civic Hall during NY #TechWeek! Come meet fellow Founders + Operators leading the way in AI!

Agenda:
9am: Doors open, coffee available
All day: pop in to work for a few hours or the whole day!

The purpose of this event is to support and grow the AI-ecosystem in NYC. NYC is ripe to become a leading hub for AI. With a dynamic ecosystem including leading AI researchers, a diverse community of AI-first startups, leading capital investors, the largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, and 40,000 people already in the NY-metro with AI and AI adjacent skills, NYC will be a global leader in AI innovation and adoption.

AI Furnace
​​The AI Furnace is NYC's largest and most active AI community. It was started by AI founders, Angela Mascarenas and Hamza Zaveri, who were based in NYC and London and started the org to support fellow AI founders and operators building in local cities outside of Cerebral Valley (San Francisco). It has since grown to a global community of 12,000 AI founders, operators and researchers and has since opened up chapters in Boston and Dubai.

Civic Hall
Civic Hall’s mission is to foster innovation, education, and collaboration in New York City’s tech economy with a commitment to expanding opportunities for all. Located in the heart of the NYC tech community at Union Square, Civic Hall is a new, 65,000-square-foot learning and training center at the new state-of-the-art Zero Irving building.

In addition to serving as the nucleus for entrepreneurial and educational innovation, Civic Hall will facilitate groundbreaking partnerships among high-impact tenants and tech training partners to work collectively to meet the needs of all New Yorkers, especially those from communities too often left behind.

This event is a part of #TechWeek - a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem

Media General Consent and Release Agreement

​​​​By attending, I hereby irrevocably consent for New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”) and any of its affiliated entities, assignees, successors, sublicensees and contractors (collectively “Designees”) to use in any way conceivable, perpetually and worldwide, my name, voice, speech, portrait, picture and/or portrayal, actions, performance, biographical materials, and likeness (all of this to be called my “Personal Character”), in NYCEDC’s programming, promotional materials and/or other display, in any type of media now known or yet to be invented. I understand that NYCEDC will be the sole owner of its programming, promotional materials, other display and/or derivative works that includes my Personal Character and that NYCEDC may register copyright in that intellectual property.

​​​​​I understand that NYCEDC will not compensate me for the right to use my Personal Character.

​​​​​I do not have to obtain the permission of, nor make any payments to, anyone else in order to give NYCEDC the right to use my Personal Character. If I actually do need to obtain permission, or make any such payments, I will. I agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless NYCEDC, its Designees and the City of New York (“City”) from and against any losses, expenses and liabilities arising out of this General Consent and Release.

​​​​​I promise not to sue NYCEDC, its Designees or the City to prevent NYCEDC or its Designees from using my Personal Character. (If I have a genuine claim against NYCEDC, its Designees or the City regarding this General Consent and Release, I will only ask for monetary damages.)

​​​​​Registering for this event constitutes our entire understanding and agreement with respect to the subject matter detailed above and cannot be amended except in writing signed by both me and NYCEDC. This General Consent and Release is governed by the laws of the State of New York without regard to conflict of laws principles.
