About Event

On April 20, 2021 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM PST, join Employee Resource Group members from over 40 companies and organizations across the country for an evening of open dialogue.

Hear directly from prominent leaders, Allen Shim (CFO, Slack), Eric Toda (Global Head Social Marketing, Facebook), Tammy Cho (Founder #Hateisavirus), and Dion Lim (ABC News Reporter), on their thoughts about the recent events affecting the APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) community, the role that companies play in supporting marginalized communities, and actionable steps that individuals and allies can take for ongoing change.

After the panel, you’ll have the opportunity to attend speed networking with ERG members from other companies or connect with the community in a breakout room discussion.

Breakout Rooms:

  • Open mic on AAPI recent events and hate crimes

  • The hyphenated “Asian-” experience - What’s your story?

  • Standing up to stereotypes (e.g., the model minority) and microaggressions

  • Navigating the bamboo ceiling across disciplines, fields, and industries

  • Talking about AAPI issues at work

  • How to be an effective ally for the Asian community and other BIPOCs

  • Life in lockdown and preparing for a return to a new normal - the good, the bad, what’s ahead

  • How can we better #RepresentAsian with a unified social media strategy?

We anticipate over 2,000 attendees and welcome you to join! This event is open to all, including allies.

We’re raising donations for various organizations who support the Asian community. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for 3 key non-profits. To learn more and donate, visit gofundme.com/be-seen-be-heard.
