About Event

Open Source and Copilot will commoditize code – what does this mean for a software company?

The steady growth of open source and the advancement of gen AI agents specific to code generation are making code per se less and less valuable. So, where does the intrinsic value of a software company reside?

Federico Wengi, partner at SquareOne VC
Federico holds a Masters in Finance, having studied at Bocconi University (Italy), WHU (Germany), Nova (Portugal). After working in the M&A department of Deutsche Bank in London and Mediobanca in Frankfurt, he moved to Berlin and joined Flaconi as a Founder Associate. He joined SquareOne in 2013 before they raised their first institutional fund. In his free time, you find Federico cooking, reviewing Italian wine, lifting weights, and running.
