Welcome to the Berlin AI Meetup by GetYourGuide 🚀

Curious how companies are using AI in Production? Join us to learn how companies - and we at GetYourGuide - use AI in Production.

The meetup is relevant to ML and AI practitioners, but we invite anyone passionate about AI and ML to join us at our office in Prenzlauer Berg. You can expect great talks, pizza, drinks, and networking with people building with AI in Berlin.

Talk #1: Empowering our Partner Widget with NLP

By Steven Mi & Mathieu Bastian (GetYourGuide)

The affiliate partners program acts as a crucial customer acquisition channel for GetYourGuide. Partners can promote GetYourGuide activities by integrating the Partner Widget into their websites.

However, these widgets are manually created by the partner, leading to potential errors, increased effort, and the possibility of displaying less relevant activities.

To address this, we upgraded our widget to automatically display activities related to the website context it is inserted in. During the presentation, we will go into the construction of this system and discuss the use of various NLP models in production.

Talk #2: Beyond Intent: The Evolution of Our ML Platform to Support LLMs

By Stephen Batifol, Developer Relations Engineer at Wolt

In the dynamic landscape of machine learning, platforms must continually evolve to meet the changing demands of new models and workflows. This talk delves into the journey of our ML platform, tracing its growth from its foundational elements—Flyte, MLFlow, and Seldon to  enhancing its capabilities to support Large Language Models (LLMs).

We begin with an exploration of the original intentions behind our platform's design, showcasing the strengths of Flyte in workflow orchestration, MLFlow's robust model management, and Seldon's prowess in serving ML models at scale.

At the heart of our platform, Flyte emerged as a formidable force in workflow orchestration, demonstrating its exceptional capability to navigate the intricate pathways of Large Language Model (LLM) training. Complementing Flyte's prowess, MLFlow offered unparalleled model management, while Seldon excelled in serving these models to the world.

Join us as we unravel the challenges faced, lessons learned, and the exciting potentials of our evolving ML platform. This talk is not just a story of technical adaptation, but a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence in a world driven by data and language.
