About Event

Thank you for registering for Chicago VCapital - Intro to Fundraising in 2024 for AAPI, International, and Immigrant Founders originally as a part of #TechChicago week! After a host injury, we are excited to host the event this Thursday, September 12th 2024

We are excited to welcome founders, investors, and community members for one of VCapital's first in person events in recent years.

-------------------------------------------------------

Join us on Thursday, September 12th starting at 2:00pm for a relaxed presentation, panel, and networking session hosted by VCapital and co-sponsored by TriNet.

This event is focused on early stage fundraising/investments for International, AAPI, and Immigrant Founders/Investors. The event is open to founders, investors, students, immigration lawyers, and more - the content is relevant for anyone interested in startups, early stage investments, and small businesses.

The early stage fundraising ecosystem has changed drastically in recent years compared to the past 5 years as venture capital, private investors, and more have changed strategies due to macroeconomics.

In the United States, specifically, fundraising can differ significantly geographically, culturally, socioeconomically, by startup stage, and more making it particularly difficult for AAPI, Immigrant, and International founders and investors to navigate the fundraising landscape.

Some topics that may be covered:

-The Different Stages of Startup Investments

-Recap/Review of Fundraising Ecosystem from 2021 to 2024

-Socioeconomics of Early Stage Fundraising

-Sourcing, Qualifying, and Closing Investors/Rounds

-Dos/Donts and maybe some Secrets of Fundraising

Agenda:

- 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Welcome + Networking + Drinks/Apps

- 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Presentation/Panel/Discussion: Intro to Fundraising in 2024 for AAPI, International, and Immigrant Founders
