Jemimah Orevaoghene - Director, Morgan Stanley
Jemimah is a Director in the early-stage investing team at Morgan Stanley, where she focuses on tech and tech-enabled businesses and leads the sourcing for African companies for the portfolio.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, she worked as a Private Equity investor in a $6 billion business at Goldman Sachs. Having been Angel investing in African founders over the past 9 years, Jemimah is fiercely passionate about channeling institutional and diaspora capital back to the continent.
Patricia Chin-Sweeney - Venture Partner, Beyond Capital Ventures
Patricia plays a key role in sourcing and strategy for Beyond Capital's Africa and climate-related investments. She has acted as a senior advisor and transitional leader to the startup and investment ecosystem, including AlphaMundi Foundation/Group, and was Founder of I-DEV, an advisory firm focused on emerging markets opportunities.
Josh Whale - CEO, Ampersand
BCV portfolio company Ampersand is Africa’s leading electric transport energy provider with the largest commercial e-motorcycle fleet and battery swapping network in Rwanda and Kenya. Since its founding in 2016, it has grown to be best-in-class for technology and performance, with more than 400 employees and over 2,000 bikes on the road.
Mercedes de la Vega - Energy Partnerships Manager, Acumen
Mercedes manages strategic partnerships that enhance Acumen’s work in energy access. In this role, she is responsible for engaging with foundations, corporations, governments, and investors that support Acumen’s energy initiatives, cultivating new partnerships and amplifying its thought leadership in the energy access and climate space. Mercedes holds a Master of Public Administration in Development Practice degree from Columbia University (Fulbright Scholar) and a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Universidad de San Andrés.
