Tala Schlossberg Experimental Animation Workshop (4 sessions)
This is a 4 session workshop that runs 7-9:30pm pm Tuesdays July 8-29th.
This course is for anyone looking to gain a well rounded understanding of experimental animation techniques and how to incorporate these skills into their own artistic practice. In the studio, we will use physical materials to create animations that blend digital and analog processes. All participants will conceptualize and compete their own animated project over the course of 4 sessions with one on one project support. We will end the course with a group screening.
The workshop is designed for participants to draw from their own stylistic inspiration and leave with original works that they are proud of, as well as the skillset to continue exploring animation independently and / or incorporate motion into their professional work.
Prerequisite: to take this course, you should have have some familiarity with After Effects OR be well versed in a different video or design software and be comfortable working with layers and timelines.
This is going to be a small and collaborative class environment in the Brooklyn studio. Let's play and explore and make fun videos together!
