TAP Health visits: NewPath
NOTE: As this event occurs during the academic year, you may register and find out later that you need to change your registration. That is perfectly okay. If you register, please add event to your calendar now so you can begin preparing and if you find out you can't make it by the time you see the reminder (I will send one out 2 weeks before the event).
The Health Collaborative is happy to send an Excused Absence form to anyone who makes that request. We already have a standardized form and can send to either you, or a designated teacher, office or program.
If the event becomes full, I will contact waitlisted students 2 weeks before to tell you about your status. Please also save the date on your calendars as well.

NewPath is a Comprehensive Behavioral Health and Educational Treatment Agency providing various Behavioral Health Services, Education Programs, Foster Care, and Medication Management.
They are the oldest social service agency in existence!! Founded by the Sisters of Charity as an orphanage over 190 years ago. In the 1980s and 1990s, NewPath transitioned from a traditional orphanage to an innovative Behavioral Health Agency.

What happens at this event:
Our contact at NewPath is awesome! She is going to arrange a panel of SEVERAL professions in mental health - counselors, therapists, and MD, etc. That way you all can ask questions and compare notes right then about the various careers paths in mental health and how they connect to your chosen field if it's not one of them. With a panel like this, I hope many of you will consider registering for this event.
We will also get to learn about the types of therapy offered at NewPath and how they've been successful in helping youth.
NewPath is also a great place to volunteer and they are always looking. They will go over opportunities at the event. Not just for those interested in mental health careers, but they also do music therapy, art therapy, etc.
Please note they have several locations. My contact will confirm with me what location is best, but she already knows she is able to take 40 students! (I will remove the prior sentence once location is confirmed.)
