🔷 Kotlinx serialization - Péter Nagy
We know Gson, Jackson, and other serialization libraries, but sometimes they have some problem with how they handle the null value. Of course most of them use reflection and we can be surprised when a non-null field is null. What can we do? Instead of creating a workaround we can use a serialization lib which is part of the Kotlin ecosystem. It does not use reflection (just generated code) and we can use default values.
🔷 Screenshot testing Compose and Views - Challenges and Takeaways - Tamás Balogh
In the maze of UI frameworks and shifting development approaches, ensuring proper user experience is a hot topic. Adopting Jetpack Compose while still maintaining screens using the legacy View system is part of everyday life for many teams. As well as facing the limitations of unit and instrumentation tests beyond the verification of functional requirements.
