Shares - joint marital property of spouses
Join us for a unique seminar where we will address the challenges faced by spouses holding shares under joint ownership, as well as by investors or employers tasked with managing or disposing of such shares.
Speakers:
· Renata Cibulskienė will explore situations where shares are jointly owned by spouses: how these shares are managed, the procedures for their division in the event of a divorce, and how a marriage contract can change the form of share ownership.
Discussion: the presentation by managing associate Renata Cibulskienė will be followed by a discussion with partner, co-head of Banking and Finance practice group Akvilė Bosaitė and associate partner Jovita Valatkaitė. The discussion will be moderated by managing associate Justinas Šileika.
Participants of the discussion:
· Akvilė Bosaitė will share her insights from an investor's perspective. She will discuss the challenges that arise when shares classified as community property affect potential investors and the solutions investors typically employ in such cases. Additionally, you will discover how lawyers can assist both founders and investors in navigating these challenges
· Jovita Valatkaitė will discuss situations where employers allocate shares to employees and the problems that can arise when shares become the property of employees.
