About the Speaker : Allison Kennedy Thurmond - VP North America Lithium Equinor
Allison Kennedy Thurmond is a seasoned leader with experience in the public and private sectors. She's a wife, mother of two, and devoted friend, raised as the oldest of six sisters, with a strong stance against bullying.
Thurmond's career path began with the US Department of Commerce after high school, where she quickly advanced to leadership roles. She holds a Ph.D. in Geosciences from the University of Texas at Dallas, with fieldwork in Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia that broadened her perspective.
At Equinor in Norway, Thurmond held various leadership roles, harnessing the power of diverse teams and learning to navigate complex challenges. Upon returning to the US, she shifted her focus to promoting diversity in business operations, holding key positions such as Exploration Manager and Vice President.
Thurmond is passionate about building high-performing teams, leadership, sustainability, strategy, DEI, and innovation. She's a forever learner, excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead, driven by her commitment to diverse approaches and active allyship.
