About Event

AugHacks is not just a weekend hackathon - it's your launchpad into the future of human augmentation.

Build, prototype, and reimagine the human experience, and meet the brightest minds in emerging neurotech, wearable robotics, computational olfaction, human-machine symbiosis, and more.


🧬 Hackathon Tracks

BELIEVE SHORT TRACK | 24-hour sprint

  • 5 Teams are eligible for the Believe Builders Prize:

    • 💸 $500 Per Project

  • Winners are invited to the MIT Media Lab to exhibit at our annual Augmentation Summit

LONG TRACK | Continue building post-hack

  • Participants are eligible for LONG Track Prize Pool:

    • 🥇 $1000

    • 🥈 $600

    • 🥉 $400

  • Winners are invited to the MIT Media Lab to exhibit at our annual Augmentation Summit

  • On-site videography in partnership with LONG: Opt in to have your build process documented for self-promo and growth purposes! We provide both videographer and editor.

Participants can start in the short track and switch to the long track during or after the event if they choose to continue their project.

  • 11:00 AM – Final Feedback

  • 12:00 PM – Showcase + Demos

🔮 What You Can Build

From soft robotics to digital consciousness, AugHacks is a playground for radical, human-centered invention. Think:

  • Exoskeletons

  • Supernumerary limbs controlled by VR

  • Wearable devices that sense and express emotion

  • AI symbionts + digital twins

  • BCI-controlled interfaces

...and anything you dare to imagine.

    • 2× Prusa FDM 3D Printers

    • 1x Bamboo Labs Printer

  • BCI headsets:

    • 2x OpenBCI EEG

    • 1x Muse EEG

    • 1x Mendi fNIRS

  • 2 VR headsets (Quest 3 and Pro)

  • Microcontrollers (~10 available)

  • Assorted Sensors

  • Soldering Station + Multimeter

Please bring your own hardware if we don't have what you need. Please also feel free to pre-print and bring in any 3D printed parts required for your project.
