Join us for our second August Community Jam on Making the Case for Inclusive Design!
Over the past month in a small working group, we've been exploring what holds us back from getting buy-in for inclusive design.
We've come up with themes, common scenarios and early thinking on solutions that we'd like to open up to the community for further elaboration. Our goal is to eventually transform our community work into an openly available resource.
What to Expect
This jam will be an interactive co-design session! Our goal is to build something useful and valuable in real time as a community.
We'll start by sharing some background on the working group, our goals and our explorations so far.
We'll then share FigJam board (aka a virtual whiteboard) where all participants can bring in inputs, questions and reactions.
Accessibility & Inclusion Considerations
You can choose to lean in and actively participate or step back and follow along quietly.
You can join via desktop or mobile — we'll adapt our facilitation style and tools based on the needs of those present.
We will provide closed captions, live transcripts and visual descriptions to the best of our ability.
Please send us any other accommodation requests upon signing up and we'll do our best to honor them!
📚 If you can't make it, we'll send out a recording (if all attendees consent to this) afterwards to all those who register as well as our community members.
Who are we?
We are the Inclusive Design Jam, an inclusive design community of practice committed to making the access and use of products, services and environments equal to all. We meet in monthly jam sessions and in our Slack group to explore topics related to inclusive and equitable design.
The community and jam sessions are proudly hosted by Sandra Camacho (She/Her), aka Sandra By Design, an independent inclusive design consultant and educator based in Paris, France.
