Great Highway EV Showdown: Art Bikes & Kinetic Chaos
Join us for the Great Highway EV Showdown, a kinetic sculpture race-meets-electric time trial hosted by GLHQ, San Francisco’s nonprofit makerspace for boundary-pushing hardware, edge AI, and electric dreams. Inspired by the land version of a sailboard and the spirit of the Kinetic Grand Championship, this event celebrates custom e-bike builds, hacked-together EVs, and anything powered without carbon.
Build rules? Keep it electric. Keep it rolling. Bonus points for flair, flags, or full-blown chaos.
Efficiency is optional. Spectacle is not.
We’re calling on Bay Area hackerspaces, art collectives, and rogue inventors to show up and show off. Bring your most ridiculous electric vehicle, and let’s start some friendly rivalries on the windswept pavement of the Great Highway.
Event Highlights:
Time trials and head-to-head heats

Show & tell: showcase your EV creations

Prize categories for speed, style, and total nonsense
