About Event

Join members of the admission committee at The New School, home to Parsons School of Design and the School of Drama, as they give you tips for preparing your portfolio or audition. This presentation will provide general tips that you can use no matter the college, university, or program you are interested in applying to in the future.

Guest Speakers

Chelsie Güner is an Admission Counselor at The New School, working largely with international applicants to Parsons School of Design. She has an undergraduate degree in Art History and African, Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Literature and is pursuing a graduate degree in the History of Design & Curatorial Studies in a joint program with Parsons School of Design and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Chelsie is from a Turkish-American family and grew up in Tokyo, Japan.

Sam Byron is the Assistant Director of Admission for The College of Performing Arts at The New School, specializing in Drama. He holds an M.F.A. in Playwriting from the School of Drama at The New School, and has spent more than a decade working not only as an artist, but as an advocate for artists. He has been proud to continue that work serving the young theatre makers that populate The New School's BFA Dramatic Arts program.
