Building the Suffering Abolitionist ecosystem: The Far Out Initiative and further
Bio: Marcin Kowrygo is focused on the abolition of maladaptive and involuntary suffering. After gaining a background in biomedical and cognitive neuroscience, he graduated valedictorian in Neurobiology, got involved in the rationalist spaces, co-founded a nationwide Effective Altruism chapter, and supported a wide range of EA(-adjacent) initiatives. He currently serves as an Acting CEO at the Far Out Initiative, a public benefit company conducting exploratory research on anti-suffering interventions, as a multidisciplinary contractor with Emergence Benefactors, a charity designed to promote long-term human flourishing through an in-depth understanding of emergent phenomena, and as a Strategic Advisor at the Qualia Research Institute, a nonprofit building a new science of consciousness.
