Today we invite three designers from different backgrounds to share how they tackled this problem. Hopefully, after this panel talk, you can be more confident about negotiating an offer that's worth it for you.

Speakers

Ermi Isais

Ermi has a 20+ year design career, (15 years in visual design and 5+ years in product design), and has mentored recent UX grads, through to mid to senior designers looking to lead or manage a design team. She's worked at agencies, corporate in-house, freelance, and startups and often shares tips about what to expect when you're the first UX hire, how to establish and lead a new UX design team and shows that introverted leaders can thrive in extroverted environments.

Ermi's also passionate about empowering more women to become leaders and specialises in empowering designers with EQ skills like confidence, communication and persuasiveness when negotiating a salary and has had a 100% success rate in her last 5 roles.

When Ermi's not designing, she's doing fitness training, promoting positive mental health and reading books about psychology and behaviour. She has a growth mindset and is always learning something new, living outside of her comfort zone and being brave.

Eric J. Lee

Eric is a UX Designer, Entrepreneur, and Innovation strategist.
Eric practices the design thinking process to build innovative experiences. He is passionate about solving problems and meeting needs through human-centered design.

On the side, Eric mentors and teach future UXers on how to break into the UX industry. He also hosts in-person meetings for UXers to network and make friends in the industry.

Victor Jianto

Victor is a product designer currently working at two startups. He worked in architecture for 3 years before pivoting into design in tech 3 years ago.

Outside of work, he enjoys eating and napping.​
