Advancing Agrivoltaics: The Intersection of Solar & Agriculture
Here’s a quick mid-April update on DoubleLand’s SF Climate Week Event:
We’re thrilled to announce that Danny Kennedy will be our session’s moderator, and we’re excited to have Eric Hadden, the Executive Director of the Water, Energy, and Technology Center at Fresno State join us to provide a perspective on agrivoltaics from the heart of California’s Central Valley.
Here is the original description of the session:
A recent study concluded that roughly 83% of projected new solar development in the contiguous U.S. is likely to occur on agricultural lands. Over the past 10 years, several new “agrivoltaic” solar array designs and methods have emerged that enable some level of ranching or farming to occur within a solar array’s footprint. DoubleLand’s recently patented agrivoltaic design is quickly winning over ranchers, farmers and solar developers alike as it enables ag workers unfettered access and use of 98% of the land where solar arrays are deployed, so owners can maintain, and even enhance, their farm’s productivity. Our session will provide both an overview of agrivoltaics and DoubleLand’s revolutionary new approach.
