​Have you been left feeling like the term ‘career pivoter’ doesn’t apply to you because you think it only applies to folks switching companies?

​Well, that’s where you’re wrong! Making a career pivot can take many different forms and internal career pivots are just one of the ways you can do that. According to LinkedIn Learning’s Workplace Learning Report, 51% of Learning & Development professionals say that internal mobility is more of a priority now than before the start of the pandemic. So what does this mean for you? It’s the perfect time to plant the seeds for your internal career pivot. 

​It can feel really scary to talk to leadership about making an internal pivot... You don’t want to seem ungrateful or like you don’t like the company, but know your skillset would be better suited elsewhere. Beyond that, you just know you’d be happier in another role and want to continue with the same company. That’s why we’re bringing you a couple of speakers who have made an internal pivot to tell their story.

• ​Tips for being successful in your internal pivot

​We’ll be joined by Elle Shwer, Product Manager at MongoDB and Monica Seng, Associate Product Manager at Nomad Health.  

​Elle is a Product Manager from St. Pete Beach, FL who has traded in the sunny beaches for a concrete jungle in NYC.  She is currently Product Manager at MongoDB overseeing three teams 1) driving growth of Atlas Search 2) leading the Cloud Alerts Platform initiative and 3) supporting the education ecosystem through Documentation. She began her career as a product designer on MongoDB’s Cloud Team and internally pivoted 2 years ago.

​Monica is an Associate Product Manager at Nomad Health, the first digital marketplace for healthcare jobs. She was previously an Operations Associate on the Customer Success team with Nomad and was involved in a few Product Operations-related projects before starting her APM role this past July. She's excited to meet others interested in pivoting and learn how others have made the switch!
